Read
our submission guidelines below plus our About page and send submissions to DoubleXScience@gmail.com.
Double X Science publishes original submissions or reposts from other blogs. We may post submissions on other days pending editorial
team approval and may choose to post submissions at the Double X Science sister
site, Double X Science Jr. Publication of posts
does not necessarily imply agreement with their content or that their content
represents the opinion of any or all of the Double X Science editors.
Acceptance of a submission implies no fiscal compensation and signifies only
that the author's work will be posted on the Double X Science or Double X Science Jr site and highlighted
via various social media, including Twitter and Facebook.
Please carefully note all of the guidelines below before sending
us your submission. Also note that submission implies consent to publication
and consent for your submission to be considered for the Double X Science
print/e-reader anthology, unless otherwise explicitly stated. Further, we will
require your real name for the online or print publishing agreement, although
for publication purposes, you can use a pseudonym.
By submitting your essay to us, you guarantee that your
submission is your own work and that you are liable for its content. The
editors of Double X Science will take immediate action against any detected
libel, plagiarism, or copyright infringement.

Double X Science will select appropriate art to accompany posts and will, at
its discretion, add education-oriented links for specific terms in the text. We
will edit posts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage and for length,
clarity, and accuracy. At all times, we will strive to retain the author's
voice.

The Double X Science Anthology
Rights: Double
X Science is planning to produce an anthology of submissions to this site for
publication in late 2012/early 2013. Double X Science does not retain exclusive
rights for any work. We request, however, the right to publish your submitted
work on the Double X Science or Double X Science Jr Website or in any other
related platforms, such as print books and e-readers, in whole or in part. In
addition, we request the right to archive your work indefinitely. Your
submission is acknowledgment of your acceptance of these terms.
The anticipated book will appear in print and e-reader format
and will be sold for profit. A portion of the profits will go to fund projects
in science education. Authors whose essays/posts are chosen for inclusion in
the book will receive no fiscal compensation but will have their biography,
Website, and/or social media information included and will be part of the
promotion for the book. In addition, authors whose essays/posts are included
agree to have their work used not only in the book but also for the purposes of
promoting the book and all related Double X Science/Double X Science Jr
content, including Websites and other media.
Selection of Contributions: The selection process for inclusion in the book will take
place toward the end of 2012. Authors whose essays are selected will be
contacted and will at that time be able to submit/modify their biographical
information for the print publication.
You may submit changes to your submission or request its removal
from the Double X Science Website at any time. However, if your submission
appears in the print/e-reader anthology, you will not be able to recall your
work for any reason.
Age
To comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act
(COPPA), we do not collect information from children under the age of 13.
Submissions from persons ages 18 or younger require parent or guardian
permission for submission and publication. This requirement applies for
submissions both for Double X Science and Double X Science Jr.
Liability
If you choose to publish with your real name you do so with the
understanding that submissions chosen for publication will appear publicly and
be promoted freely and publicly on the Internet. Information associated with
your name or included in your submission may be used against you by former
spouses or friends, identity thieves, the media, current or future employers,
and lawyers. Double X Science and its editors will not be held liable.
Double X Science does not assume responsibility for any
information submitted by authors or readers. By submitting any work, each
author/reader is stating they have properly followed all legal rules and
regulations for writing and publishing.
